Meet the artisans

Silver Bends is a family-run shop in Alberta, Canada, built the old-fashioned way — one market at a time. We first opened in 2017 under pop-up tents at local markets, and before long the market community knew us by name. In 2018, Joel joined in and brought his woodworking skills into the mix, adding that rugged, hands-on touch that makes our pieces feel solid and special.

Back then we carried a little bit of everything, but during COVID, Jeanette felt pulled back to her Ukrainian roots and our shop naturally shifted into what it is today: warm, meaningful Ukrainian-inspired gifts made with care, tradition, and pride. If you love symbols you recognize, stories you grew up with, and gifts that feel like home, you’ll fit right in here. We’re still out in the community too, and we’d love to see you in person at the Shumka Dance Festival, Calgary Ukrainian Festival, UFest Edmonton, and Vegreville’s Pysanka Festival.
